Admission Guidelines

Following guidelines have been set forth for the candidates of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programs. Aspiring medical and dental students will embark on a transformative journey that blends cutting-edge education, hands-on clinical experience, and dedication to patient care at our Azra Naheed Medical and Azra Naheed Dental Colleges. Our comprehensive curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities, and
distinguished faculty are committed to nurturing the next generation of healthcare leaders. This document outlines the prerequisites, application process, selection criteria, merit calculation and essential information necessary to navigate the admission process successfully.

Eligibility Conditions:

Candidates are required to fulfill the following conditions:

  • Should have passed the MDCAT examination 2024 conducted by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
  • Have passed a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or Equivalent 12th Grade Qualification with minimum 60% marks.
  • With GCE Cambridge/London, ‘Advanced level’ (A level), American High School Diploma, and other equivalent Certificates or Diplomas, an equivalence to HSSC (Pre-Medical) will be required from IBCC.
  • As updated in PMDC regulation dated 13th July 2023 it will be necessary for candidates to pass the mandatory subjects of biology and chemistry. The student may opt to qualify either physics or mathematics in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan:

Procedure of Admission:

  •  Applicants are required to apply online through an online portal link.
  • All candidates must qualify a mandatory Admission Test and Interview to determine their suitability and aptitude for the medical education. Non qualification of this test or interview will render the candidates disqualified for Provisional Merit List.
  • After the test/ interview Merit shall be determined as per PMDC regulations.
  • Applicants who are applying based on A Level/ Foreign qualification are required to get the equivalence from IBCC and enter equivalent marks in online form.
  • It is mandatory for all eligible candidates to apply separately for MBBS & BDS through the online portal.
  • The application fee of Rs. 2000/- per program is mandatory and is not refundable. (Mode of Payment is given in the Online form)
  • Pakistan Medical & Dental Council has reserved separate seats for Foreign/Overseas candidates. Interested candidates would also be required to follow the same process and procedure. Provided further that the mandatory requirement of MDCAT shall not apply to students seeking admission on a special program seat predefined exclusively for foreign students and on the seats reserved for overseas Pakistanis. Such students shall qualify SAT-Il with a minimum score of 550 in each subject or a foreign MCAT examination or UCAT examination with 50% marks in the above-mentioned subjects.
  • Foreign students/ overseas candidates would also be required to appear in the Superior Admission Test and Interview as is prescribed for all aspirants.

Pakistani Students:

As updated in PMDC regulation dated 13th July 2023 “Pakistani student” means a student who is a Pakistani national and has completed F.Sc./HSSC or equivalent qualification in Pakistan.

Foreign Students:

As updated in PMDC regulation dated 13th July 2023, a Foreign Student means a student who holds a foreign nationality or is an overseas Pakistani, permanently resident in a foreign country who has studied and passed the HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan and is a resident of a foreign country at the time of applying and possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect.

Special Note:

 Before submitting applications, applicants must ensure that they have strictly complied with the instructions given in the online application form. It remains the responsibility of the applicant to apply according to the instructions. Students are expected to submit attested photocopies of documents along with the application and originals for the purpose of verification by the university at the time of Interview. If required, the university will check the authenticity of the documents submitted with the concerned school, college, board, or university as per prescribed procedure. All expenses shall be borne by the candidate concerned.

Superior Admission Test:

In accordance with Admission Regulations of Superior University for the year 2024, all applicants will go through a specially designed test in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, and English.

Interview:

Test will be followed by the interview with the aim to assess their mental health and suitability to complete the MBBS and BDS course and pursue a career in health sciences. The panel would comprise medical experts, teachers, and psychologists.

Note: It is mandatory for each applicant to qualify for both the Test and the Interview.

Requirements For Selected Students

Successful students selected for MBBS / BDS programme are expected to fulfil the following:

Submission of Educational Testimonials:

Original transcripts, mark sheets, certificates to be brought for submission and attestation by the university.

– Medical Physical Examination:

The MBBS/ BDS programme is both physically and mentally demanding. Students admitted are required to undergo a comprehensive medical examination including laboratory investigations and chest X-ray, before they are allowed to join classes.

– Immunization:

Clinical experience carries a small personal risk of infection. In their own interest, and in the interest of patients and others, students must provide evidence of immunization against the following: COVID-19, Tuberculosis (BCG), Diphtheria, Poliomyelitis, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Measles/Mumps (and Rubella for females).
